Volunteer with CEF Pasadena
Thank you for your interest in serving with Child Evangelism Fellowship. We are excited about all that God is going to do as churches share the Gospel with unchurched children in their communities.
CEF takes seriously our responsibility to protect the children we serve, the volunteers who serve them, our partnering churches, and the good name of Jesus Christ. So every volunteer completes three easy steps before serving.
Free screening: CEF Pasadena Chapter pays the fee.
New volunteers
Three steps to serve
- Step 1: Before the online application, fill out the Step 1 form.
- Step 2: Complete the online application and background screening. It takes about 15 minutes. All volunteers 18 and older and CEF missionaries undergo a national criminal background check on a secure server.
- Step 3: ID check and interview with your CEF team leader. Show a photo ID and answer a few questions, then receive your nametag as a screened volunteer.

What do I need for the online application?
Your salvation testimony; reference contacts (name, phone, email) for a pastor or church leader, a previous employer, and two personal references, no relatives please; your addresses for the last 5 years; and your driver's license (if applicable) and Social Security number. The system times out after about 10 minutes of no activity, and you must finish within 40 minutes.
I'm under 18. Can I apply?
Yes, with online parental consent for reference checks. After you enter your birthdate, a pop-up appears and your parent or guardian must click OK. At the end of the form, your parent or guardian must check the “I Agree” box and enter their full name as a signature.
Is there a cost?
No. CEF Pasadena Chapter pays your screening fee. Please complete steps 1 and 2 as soon as possible; you'll receive confirmation once your screening is submitted.

Required every 5 years, or if you've been absent more than one year. Have your testimony, last 5 years of addresses, and ID ready.
